Famous Divas Past Their Primes: an Honorary Compilation

Rest in Peace, Christa Ludwig. This video was made before her passing, so her death date is obviously not represented. The idea for this video had been kicking in my brain for a while. I think it started when I watched AfroPoli’s Perle Nere 4 :    • Perle Nere - Operatic disasters - Part 4  . It included some clips of older opera divas sounding absolutely terrible. Now, AfroPoli’s personal opinion is that if you can no longer sing well, don’t sing at all. And I understand that view. But it is my opinion that we should still support mostly retired opera singers when they do retirement-y concerts, as a way to honor their careers. That, and some of the clips were so bad, that it’s a little funny. So I borrowed a few of the same clips and added a whole lot more to make this. I also managed to put this together in half a day, so I’m pretty proud about that. The thumbnail took half a day on its own. Also, really do watch "March With Me" sung by Montserrat Caballe.
