Onán Cruz en COPE La Palma

📍 La Palma hosts the 2nd Canary Islands Demographic Challenge Congress Breña Alta will be the venue, on June 18th and 19th, for the 2nd Canary Islands Demographic Challenge Congress, an event to reflect on housing, community ties, new economic models, sustainability, and the so-called "fifteen-minute Canary Islands" phenomenon. On Herrera en COPE La Palma, Miguel Ángel San Blas interviewed Onán Cruz, Director General of Territorial Planning and Cohesion for the Canary Islands Government, who argued that the demographic challenge must be translated into useful and concrete policies. 🗣️ Cruz emphasized that the goal is not simply for all municipalities to grow, but rather for everyone to be able to live wherever they choose, with access to services, opportunities, and a good quality of life, including in rural areas and on the green islands. Furthermore, he announced that the congress already has nearly 200 registered attendees in person and almost 100 participating online, and invited the residents of La Palma to take part in an event that aims to establish new lines of work for the future of the Canary Islands. During the interview, he also addressed other current issues, such as the delimitation of the Tajogaite protected natural area and the controversy surrounding the boundaries between Los Llanos de Aridane and Tijarafe. #COPELaPalma #LaPalma #CanaryIslands #DemographicChallenge #BreñaAlta #OnánCruz #HerreraEnCOPE #Territory #Housing #EqualIslands
