Squier by Fender Classic Vibe '70s Telecaster Deluxe It's Friday again, and that means only one thing: we have a new YouTube video for you! Today's subject is the guitar we mentioned in last night's Instagram post: the Squier Classic Vibe '70s Telecaster. We have a lot of love for this superb, affordable electric, and one quick listen to the tones achieved in this video, should quickly explain why. A poplar body, maple C-profile neck together with a pair of excellent, articulate Fender-designed Wide-Range humbucking pickups, makes these guitars sound far more substantial than you might assume. Great aesthetics - with that Strat-style headstock, oversized pickguard and skirted amp knobs - adds some aesthetic flair to the whole package. And we played through some very serious gear here, too. Plugging into a Fender 1964 Deluxe, with an upgraded Tone Tubby Purple Haze Alnico hemp cone speaker, the tones are rich, musical and chimey. Some classic drive is provided by the Vemuram Shanks, and since this is the slightly smaller, reverb-free Fender Deluxe, we added ambience using the Source Audio True Spring.
