A DOCUMENTARY FILM ABOUT THE YELNYA BOG MODD – Live Hot Air Balloon Dj Set –    • Video   —————————— Yelnya is the largest bog in Belarus. It has been filtering water and air for 9,000 years. Its size is comparable with the territory of Minsk: there are 118 lakes on 200 km2, where 130 species of birds live. In 2002, 70% of Yelnya bog burned down. Citizens, government and business are still involved in the restoration of the bog. But these efforts are not enough. – We went to Yelnya and asked the volunteers, why they collect garbage left by berry pickers and fishermen. – We learned from an environmental organization and a scientist what role the biotope plays in the global climate. – We asked the conservators of Yelnya and a guide, whether it is possible to develop responsible tourism. – We learned from business companies, what it means to be socially responsible. – We invited a musician to fly over the bog in a balloon and record a live DJ set. – We learned from the traveler Leonid Pashkowski [Hochu Domoj] why we always want to go back home. – We talked with a local hermit and learned where «I» ends and «we» begins.
