For my second feature of DS Sunday this week, here’s a recent cassette release from Clan Destine Records – Australian artist, Goremantle. With a doomy eeriness that loses you in the misty pines of a Twin Peaks style mystery, swallowing the slivers of light with waves of doom blackened riffs, I Am The Nothingness is a ten-track album of all-consuming wall of bleak dungeon darkness. Dragging its broken carcass into the mortal realms at its time of ending - Goremantle clacks and contorts its unknowable shambling form into an audible banshee wail crescendoing into a siren call, lamenting the potential of humanity.
