The fear and confusion of that moment still linger in my mind. After leaving Kodaikanal, we stopped on the way to cook food. That's where we discovered that we weren't just four travelers...we were five! The fifth traveler wasn't a human, but a rat, hiding in Manish's car. She had spoiled a lot of the groceries. After eating, we set off towards Rameshwaram, but night fell on the way. Out of compulsion, we decided to stop at a petrol pump about 10 kilometers before Rameshwaram. The petrol pump owner initially refused and started scaring us with all sorts of scary stories. But at Umaaji's request, he finally relented. Another day, another experience... We fell asleep, but the entire night passed in restlessness. Perhaps this is the different shades of travel—sometimes fear, sometimes suspense, sometimes learning. After eating, we continued our journey towards Rameshwaram, but night fell on the way. Around 10 kilometers before Rameshwaram, we decided to stop at a petrol pump for the night. At first, the petrol pump staff refused and tried to scare us by telling different stories. But after Umaaji’s request, he finally allowed us to stay. Another day, another experience.
