Make Your Own Whimsical Lollipop Bubble Bars!

Make LOLLIPOP Bubble Bars!!! The bubbles produced by these bubble bars will put all other bubble baths to shame! If you’re not familiar, bubble bars are a solid form of bubble bath. RECIPE: Dry: ½ cup baking soda, ½ cup sodium lauryl sulfoacetate [or sodium lauryl sulfate or sodium cocoyl isethionate], ¼ cup cream of tartar. Wet: 20 milliliters fragrance oil, 10 milliliters polysorbate 80, 30 milliliters glycerin. Pour wet into dry & then mix. Knead & squeeze dough together. Dough will pull together to form a big, soft, non-sticky ball. Divide dough & add [any type] colorant to each. *MOLD: I used a 4" mold but I recommend a 3" mold. (4" was really big). I only used 1 side because it's tricky enough getting one side out. *MOLDING: Coat mold with corn starch. Add color to center, pack well, make top flat. For clean, defined swirls, dump out crumbs & clean edges. Repeat steps, overlapping colors, & packing until mold is full. Once full, make top as flat as possible. Flip it over, hold it up a bit, & tap until lollipop is released (don’t pull it out). Insert sharp object into bottom. Hold the top down to minimize damage & carefully shove a stick in all the way to center. Use fingers to repair damage & push dough in at base to secure stick. Carefully slide lollipop onto flat surface . CURE: Dry 24 hours. PAINTING: Add alcohol & mica to cup & paint lollipop. *QUICK TIP: I used Luna pearl mica to brush over areas to soften color breaks & add a light sparkling glaze. After painting, cure bars 48 hours. Drying time varies; depending on climate & ingredients. PACKAGING: Shrink wrap top but not bottom so it'll stick out like a real lollipop wrapper. RESULTS: WOW- I was blown away at the amazing bubbles - I didn’t use a whole lollipop either! The quality & quantity of bubbles produced were phenomenal! PRODUCES: 4, 4 inch (one sided) lollipops! For fragrance, I mostly used “be enchanted” (a light, sweet, semi-floral, flirty smell) & a little bit of “fruit slices” (a juicy, fruity, sweet smell). So, the lollipops smelled like a stylish, sweet, fun, flirty, fruity candy (if that makes ANY sense!). TROUBLESHOOTING: If your bubble bar gets STUCK: *Make sure mold is clean (no leftover dough) *Coat inside mold with corn starch. *Try molding 1 side first *Pack dough in, but not too hard/deep *Tap mold to release bar (NEVER pull or tug). *If still having issues - Add a bit of baking soda or corn starch at a time to the dough, kneading it well after each addition. Keep kneading until it dries out a bit, then try again!
