Abandoned USA Military Base. Adventure #44

In this adventure we visit the abandoned military base that is Fort Stevens. This place is much more intact than i had ever assumed and i am becoming more impressed with the way that the USA preserves their historical sites. You can walk still today walk through all of the old tunnels and rooms and just picture what things may have been like during the war. This base didn't see much for active combat, but it did experience an attack from a Japanese submarine firing several shells onto the base. Luckily no one was hurt, but the back stop at the baseball diamond was destroyed.
