The hike is definitely lonely and unique, though the village was not as spectaculair as we'd hoped. And for those who wonder: Till early 2000's this town was called Zongdian, but the government thought it would attrack more tourists if they would rename the place Shangri-La. After the novel of James Hilton. Where Shangri-La is described as a mystical paradise on earth.... In 2014 the old city got fire and hundreds of houses were destroyed.
