Aspirin, clopidogrel, prasugrel, and ticagrelor are essential medications for preventing fatal heart attacks; they are antiplatelet drugs. There are other medications that are also useful: anticoagulants. Here's an explanation of their differences and in which people or diseases they are used, as well as warnings about adverse effects and monitoring.
