A 4.6 magnitude earthquake struck the northern region of the Dominican Republic, according to the National Seismological Center of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD). The epicenter was located in the tourist town of Las Terrenas, in the province of Samaná. Official reports indicate that the tremor was felt by residents of the area and surrounding communities. So far, emergency authorities have reported no casualties or structural damage.
