Dokąd jedziemy? Dokąd nas wiozą? Więźniowie Pawiaka w niemieckim obozie koncentracyjnym na Majdanku
On January 18, 1943, the first transport of Polish prisoners from the Gestapo prison in Pawiak in Warsaw arrived at the German concentration camp at Majdanek. The Germans sent over 1,300 men and women arrested by the occupation authorities and imprisoned for their underground activities, suspected of Jewish origin, or captured during mass roundups on the streets of Warsaw in mid-January 1943. The completely unknown Lublin concentration camp was often the first camp they were sent to. After several weeks and Gestapo investigations, some of the roundups were released from Majdanek. The rest were included among the political prisoners. To mark the 78th anniversary of these events, we have prepared a documentary film entitled "Where Are We Going? Where Are They Taking Us?" It consists of accounts from survivors of imprisonment in Pawiak and Majdanek, archival documents and photographs, and historical commentary. We cordially invite you to watch it. --- Music: Fragments of a song by Kaia Engel were used.
