What to do near CHARLESTON, SC (Fort Sumter, Boone Hall, & more!)

Join us this week as we explore the Charleston area! In this video we share with you what we saw in historic Charleston, South Carolina, including how we got around town using the free CARTA DASH shuttle service! We saw a few famous sites in the city, including the Pineapple Fountain, the Old Exchange, and we took a ferry to Fort Sumter National Monument, where the American Civil War began! We also stop at Poogan's Porch for some delicious lowcountry cuisine! There's so much to do in the Charleston area, and in this video we share a couple of things we did while we were here! We visited Hampton Plantation State Historic Site, a colonial era rice plantation. We also spent a few hours at Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens, where we learned about the Gullah-Geechee culture. We hiked part of the Palmetto Trail at our campground, Buck Hall Landing Recreation Area, part of Francis Marion National Forest! And we couldn't pass up on some lowcountry shrimp and grits at Acme Lowcountry Kitchen! We hope you enjoy this video, or find it helpful.
