MÜ'MİN SURESİ - Türkçe Meal

● It is the 60th sura in the order of revelation in the Mushaf, the 40th sura, and it has 85 verses and was revealed in Mecca. It is the first of seven consecutive surahs that begin with "Hā-mīm." The surah takes its name from the word "mu'min," which appears in verse 28 and means "one who believes." The believer mentioned in the verse is a member of Pharaoh's family who secretly believes and strives to guide those around him to the truth. The surah is also known as the "Ghafir Surah" because of the word "ghāfir," one of God's attributes, which appears in verse 3. "Ghafir" means "forgiving." Surah al-Mu'min primarily addresses those who "attempt to dispute God's verses" and those who oppose them. It focuses on the character, general attitudes, and goals of this group, which generally comprised the aristocratic class of Meccan pagans, and the punishments they would receive. The surah explores the breadth of God's mercy and knowledge, The chapter begins with explanations of such matters as the limitlessness of God's power; the punishments and regrets of those who attempt to deny divine truths; and the fairness of afterlife judgment. While addressing the struggle between Moses and Pharaoh and his followers, it also includes meaningful and helpful warnings to disbelievers from a believer who secretly believed in Moses' religion. The chapter emphasizes that there is no god but God and that worship performed for anyone other than Him is invalid; it also reminds those who turn away from gratitude to God of divine blessings to turn back from this error; it demonstrates the possibility of resurrection after death and warns people about this; and it also addresses God's promise to support His Messenger. The chapter addresses the divine warnings of those who, instead of seeing the truth when they had the opportunity and accepting the clear truths brought by the Prophet Muhammad, chose the path of denial by relying on their own baseless knowledge. It concludes with statements warning that their faith will no longer benefit them when they face punishment. According to Abu Hurairah, the Prophet stated that a person who recites the first three verses of Surah Al-Mu'min and the Ayat al-Kursi (Al-Baqarah 2/255) morning and evening will thus be protected (Tirmidhi, "Sawabul-Quran", 2).
