Gospel of the day Monday, June 22, 2026 Audio Gospel of the day in Italian with commentary by    / @frastefano   Liturgy of the Word today, from the Gospel according to Matthew Glory to you, O Lord Mt 7:1-5 At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: "Judge not, that you be not judged; for with the judgment you give, you will be judged; and with the measure you give, it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when the log is in your own eye? You hypocrite! First take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye." Word of the Lord Praise to you, O Christ It's strange, but it's easier to think about what doesn't depend on us than to focus on ourselves. It's natural for us to worry about the world's problems, what others are doing, the mistakes of those around us... and we struggle much more to look within. This also happens in the spiritual life: we clearly see the flaws of others, but we remain blind to our own. Jesus expresses this with a very concrete image: why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye but don't notice the log in your own? It's not an invitation to close our eyes to evil, but to start from the right place: with ourselves. Because that's where something can truly change. I can't solve all the world's problems, but I can convert my own heart. I can't fix other people's lives, but I can make my own more authentic. And when we start with ourselves, something surprising happens: our view of others changes. It becomes more humble, more merciful, more truthful. We no longer judge from above, but accompany as brothers. So today the step is simple: let's stop for a moment thinking about what doesn't depend on us... and let's return to ourselves. Not to condemn ourselves, but to start over. Because God doesn't ask you to fix the whole world. He asks your heart. And from there, little by little, everything changes.
