Honor in the Age of Algorithms: Veterans, AI, and Human Rights This video features highlights from the New York State Department of Veterans’ Services (NYS DVS) 2026 Human Rights Conference, hosted in collaboration with Medgar Evers College (CUNY) on April 23 at the Edison O. Jackson Auditorium. This year’s theme—Honor in the Age of Algorithms: Veterans, AI, and Human Rights—brought together public leaders, academic voices, advocates, students, and community partners to explore a timely question: what does human dignity require when decisions are increasingly shaped by data, policy, and automated systems? The highlights include moments from keynote and welcome remarks, a fireside conversation on accountability in public systems, and panel discussions examining AI in healthcare and employment, equity and discrimination prevention, the nature of warfare and veteran care, and student veteran voices on access, dignity, and belonging.
