At SAHA EXPO 2026, I took a close look at the latest generation technologies in Turkey's defense industry. At the fair, held at the Istanbul Fair Center, I examined domestic defense and attack systems, air defense solutions, land vehicles, electronic warfare systems, ammunition technologies, and new generation military platforms, with the YILDIRIMHAN missile being a prime example. In this video, I visited the stands of ASELSAN, HAVELSAN, ROKETSAN, MSB, MKE, NUROL MAKİNA, and many other Turkish defense industry companies, trying to see firsthand the progress Turkey has made. SAHA EXPO 2026 is being held at the Istanbul Fair Center from May 5-9, 2026, and stands out as one of Turkey's most important gatherings in the fields of defense, aviation, and space industries. The YILDIRIMHAN missile, in particular, attracted great interest at the fair. While some sources stated that the YILDIRIMHAN missile, which gained attention on social media with claims of a 6,000 km range and intercontinental ballistic missile, is considered a concept/future vision, the level Turkey has reached in long-range missile technologies attracted significant attention at the fair. ASELSAN showcased its radar, electronic warfare, air defense, and multi-layered air defense systems such as the "Steel Dome," while systems developed by companies like ROKETSAN, HAVELSAN, MKE, and NUROL MAKİNA demonstrated that Turkey has become a technology producer, not just a follower, in the defense industry. It was also announced that ASELSAN will increase deliveries for the Steel Dome in 2026 and will play a significant role in areas such as early warning radars, electronic warfare systems, and drone countermeasures.
