Curanderismo and sacred work of women – an interview with Norma Guadalupe Santos

Join us for a conversation about healing our deepest wounds to embody our greatest gifts. Norma is one of those courageous women who has crossed the fires of pain to become a powerful curandera and bring light into the world that is on fire. Norma about herself: My name is Doña Norma Guadalupe and I am a Traditional 3rd generation Curandera. My ancestral lineages hail from Saltillo,Coahuila,Mexico and San Antonio, Texas, respectively. I was called to and am also initiated within the Munay Ki traditions that include the Maya, Naga Maya and Laika of Peru lineages. I currently live in San Antonio, Texas with my husband who is also a Curandero and together we are part of a nonprofit Organization called Quetzalcoatl Temple that helps the community by growing and giving away medicinal plants as well as offering ceremonies and healings. The nonprofit supports a school called La Escuela de Curanderismo that teaches the ancient healing traditions of the Maya, Naga Maya and the Peruvian Laika. When I am not doing Curanderismo, I work hospice as an RN and have been a nurse for over 25 years. I am currently learning Ayurveda Practices and incorporate these understandings into my energy work to help heal the body, emotions and the spirit of my clients. I have learned through all these understandings how to keep myself as balanced as possible to live a blessed and healthy life. I travel often as a nurse as well as a Curandera to be able to help heal as many people as Spirit directs. I am grateful for my walk on this good Earth.
