Le Grand Dossier - Poutine perd-il la guerre ?|LCI

Are we at a turning point, and could Putin lose the war against Ukraine? That's the question posed by Le Grand Dossier this Friday. Annexed Crimea has been placed under a regional "state of emergency," local Russian officials announced this Friday, a measure intended to address the consequences of recent Ukrainian airstrikes that have caused severe fuel and electricity shortages. For several weeks, the Ukrainian army has been imposing an energy blockade on Crimea—conquered by Russian forces in 2014—by targeting infrastructure and tanker trucks supplying the peninsula. These bombings have forced authorities to suspend fuel sales to individuals in Crimea, impose power cuts, and cancel all summer camps planned there. Since the launch of the large-scale offensive against Ukraine in February 2022, the Crimean Peninsula, located in southern Ukraine and bordering the Black Sea, has been one of the combat zones between the two sides. The peninsula, home to numerous Russian military bases, is regularly targeted by Ukrainian attacks, including naval strikes that forced Moscow to withdraw part of its fleet stationed in Crimea. But this is the first time since 2022 that the peninsula has faced such severe energy shortages. In recent months, thanks to technological advancements in its drone production, Kyiv has intensified its strike campaign in Russia and in regions of Ukraine under Russian control.
