The BIGGEST Problem With CAT 2 Racing [2025 CBR #3 DOMINGUEZ HILLS]

In the USA Cycling rulebook there are different categories of racing ranging from the Novice or Category 5 all the way up to Category 1 and Professional. As a bike racer, you strive to move up the rankings via a points system. When you finish well in a bike race, particularly in my case a road bike race or criterium, you earn points to this upgrade. I've been working on getting my CAT 1 upgrade as I was able to secure CAT 2 toward the end of the 2025 race season. In this video I talk about my dilemma as a CAT 2 bike racer and racing up v. racing down in the CAT 2/3 field. For me, I feel like racing up is a better challenge, but I suffer as a result. I'm real on this channel, I talk about my real struggles and how I work to overcome them. I'm working on getting better at this whole bike racing thing. So in this video, I talk about California Bicycle Racing (CBR) #3 which is the Dominguez Hills course. This criterium is part of the greater CBR series in 2025 that takes place right here in Southern California. I hope you all enjoy hearing about my experiences on and off the bike.
