(March 12, 2026) at the Ministry of Agriculture Headquarters in Jakarta. This collaboration involves at least 18 universities and includes strengthening research on various strategic commodities such as rice, corn, soybeans, wheat, sorghum, coconut, coffee, cocoa, and chickens, as well as the development of agricultural machinery, fertilizers, and post-harvest technology. On this occasion, Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman also followed up on various innovations from universities, such as coconut climbing equipment, floating tractors, portable drying machines, the development of rice and corn seeds, local chickens, and the downstreaming of gambier commodities. Meanwhile, BRIN recorded 188 patents in the food sector ready for industrial use to accelerate downstreaming and increase the added value of national agricultural commodities. Through this collaboration, the government hopes that research innovations can be more quickly implemented in the agricultural sector, strengthening food self-sufficiency, and increasing the competitiveness of Indonesian commodities globally.
