I chose Rooi Manonchi as a location because I had a fight with a Tarpon here last year and I came back for a second round. Rooi is a Papiamento word for stream and is derived from the Spanish word arroyo. Papiamento is the local language spoken here on the island. It is also spoken on Curacao and Bonaire. Catching my first snook was already a happy moment, imagine my surprise catching another one. From never having caught a Snook before growing up on the island, to catching my very first two on the same day, I was a happy camper. Also caught me a small Mangrove snapper. We'll see if I manage to catch my first Tarpon this vacation. Aruba, One Happy Island. 🎣aw297✨
