I made an 1890's Aurora Borealis Ball Gown! (It Got Out of Hand)

Let's make the most fabulous Aurora Borealis-inspired 1890's ball gown! This gorgeous ball gown is inspired by the fashions of the late 1890's, took only seven weeks to make (🄓) and boasts more than 8,000 beads! This is the final installment in the making of this gown, and I'm so excited to share the process with you! In this video, we will break down the construction of the gown itself as the clock ticks towards the event I made it for. And did you know? This ball gown started out as white fabric! We will also ombre dye the skirt using acid dyes, and I'll explain how I painted, embroidered and beaded the skirt to look like the night sky in fabric form! I am SO excited to share this video with you! The event was fabulous and this gown was surprisingly comfortable to wear. (I can't say the same about my shoes...) But making this DID get a little out of hand...a little too epic for my allotted time frame...and next year, I'm starting months in advance 🤣 Resources: Skirt pattern: https://oralinpatterns.com/ Bodice pattern: https://blacksnailpatterns.com/ Acid dyes: https://dharmatrading.com/ Preciosa seed and bugle beads: https://www.firemountaingems.com/ Other videos I mention! šŸ“½ 1890s Ball Bodice: From Fashion Plate to Reality!:    • 1890sĀ BallĀ Bodice:Ā FromĀ FashionĀ PlateĀ toĀ R...Ā Ā  Uncovering the Mysterious Secrets of 1890's Ball Skirts!:    • UncoveringĀ theĀ MysteriousĀ SecretsĀ ofĀ 1890'...Ā Ā  Socials: Follow me on Instagram: Ā Ā /Ā fantasticalfolliescostumingĀ Ā  Support this channel by buying me a coffee šŸ§”ā˜•: https://ko-fi.com/fantasticalfollies Sound effects by Zapsplat: https://www.zapsplat.com/ Chapters: 00:00 I made an 1890's Aurora Borealis Gown! 01:35 Prepping the pattern 04:13 Ombre-dyeing the skirt 06:20 Painting the Aurora Borealis 09:00 Commence the epic beading 10:17 Building the bodice 13:42 Entering Crunch Time 19:07 Beading the sleeves 21:20 Butt pockets. 23:52 The reveal
