This song is a tribute to Iryna Zarutska, a young Ukrainian refugee whose life was tragically taken in Charlotte, North Carolina in August 2025. It is only a demo of something that maybe could be made into something more but I wanted to share it now. I didn’t know Iryna personally, but seeing the news of her final moments deeply broke my heart. Writing this song was my way of processing the grief, the shock, and the sadness of such a senseless act. The lyrics come from a place of empathy — to honor her memory, and to say that even in her last moments, she is not forgotten. 💔 Rest in peace, Iryna. You weren’t alone.
