Today we are taking the legendary "pocket rocket"—the Learjet 35A—on an executive flight from New River Valley Airport (KPSK) in Virginia up to Oakland County International Airport (KPTK) in Michigan. The Learjet 35A is legendary for its sports-car climb performance, razor-thin wings, and high-speed cruise profiles powered by twin Honeywell TFE731 turbofans. Departing KPSK's elevated runway (2,100 ft MSL) in the Virginia hills, we'll blast straight up to high-altitude flight levels, cross the Appalachian ridge, and track northwest across Ohio toward the busy Detroit Metro terminal area.
