Led Zeppelin - The Crunge | Three Strategy Drum Lesson

This lesson deals with the complicated groove from Zeppelin's tune "The Crunge" from the Houses of The Holy album. Download the PDF: http://www.mattpricedrumming.com/wp-c... We are going to use three strategies to make this groove a little easier. Strategy One: Start simple and add. Rather than trying the full groove right off the bat we are going to break it down into a simple 4/4 groove and add from there. Strategy Two: Isolate different limbs to focus on that one part. This beat has a lot of different independence happening on all four limbs so it is helpful to try one limb at a time. In this example I isolate the hi-hat part. Strategy Three: Isolate small sections of the groove and repeat. Rather than practicing the whole pattern over and over, focus on the one section of the beat that gives you trouble and work on that until it grooves.
