Disneyland Rejected Me on My 55th Birthday

This episode was supposed to be one of the highlights of our trip: celebrating my 55th birthday at Disneyland. There was just one problem. We arrived in Anaheim only to discover that California Disney parks require reservations, and thanks to Spring Break, every reservation was completely sold out. After traveling all that way, I was denied entry and never made it through the gates. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. Instead of spending my birthday riding attractions and soaking up Disney magic, we made the best of a frustrating situation. We explored Downtown Disney, did a little shopping, enjoyed some drinks, grabbed breakfast in Anaheim, and tried to salvage the day. I couldn't resist picking up a Mickey hoodie and a Darth Vader baseball jersey, but I'll be honest—every time I looked toward the park, I couldn't help thinking about what I was missing. Sometimes travel doesn't go according to plan.
