The improved versions, Red & Blue, were released in Germany in 1999 for the Game Boy. The first special edition, Pokémon Yellow, followed, featuring the first 151 Pokémon and including elements from the anime. After its enormous success, Pokémon Gold and Silver were released for the Game Boy Color later that same year. This time, the setting was the Johto region, though a simplified version of Kanto was also available. The number of known Pokémon increased with each generation. Following the special edition Pokémon Crystal, the third generation began in 2002 with the games Sapphire, Ruby, and Emerald, set in the Hoenn region on the Game Boy Advance. The Kanto remakes Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen were released in 2004, before the series continued in the Sinnoh region with Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum on the Nintendo DS in 2006. HeartGold and SoulSilver revived the Johto region for the DS in 2009, and the Unova Black and White editions ushered in the fifth generation in 2010. The sixth generation, set in Kalos, was released worldwide on October 12, 2013, for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems, as were the Hoenn remakes Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire in 2014. The seventh generation, Pokémon Sun and Moon, was introduced in 2016 in the tropical Alola region, followed in November 2017 by two versions with alternate storylines: Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon. In 2018, the series transitioned to the hybrid console Nintendo Switch. The first step was to introduce a new main series with "Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee!" and "Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu!", which strongly appealed to nostalgic players, newcomers, and Pokémon Go players. Players revisit the Kanto region and enjoy the first adventure in HD. ▪ HASHTAGS: #pokemon #pokémondiamant #bestof #domtendo
