Using Opioid Settlement Funds: Employing Effective Messaging and Narrative Strategies (5/1/25)

Supporting Decision Makers Using Opioid Settlement Funds: Employing Effective Messaging and Narrative Strategies Big Cities Health Coalition, Prevention Institute, and our partners – including ChangeLab Solutions and RTI International – are working collectively to support settlement fund efforts that align with public health values, prioritize prevention, and center the voices of people with lived and living experience. This was the first webinar of a series on supporting decision-makers in using opioid settlement funds. During the webinar, Chrissie Juliano (Big Cities Health Coalition), Christian Arthur (Boston Public Health Commission), and Kari Holley and Joe Fuller (Whatcom County Health and Community Services) shared strategies for effectively communicating with decision- and policy-makers and shifting the narrative around opioid misuse and overdose. This project is supported by Cooperative Agreement Number NU38PW000033 awarded to Big Cities Health Coalition and funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
