In this episode of our Iranian travel vlog, we are diving straight into some of the oldest, strangest, and most unforgettable corners of Gorgan (historically known as Esterabad) in Northern Iran. This is a side of Persia that history books rarely mention, and even the locals only talk about in whispers. We start our journey by stepping inside the legendary Bagheri House, a centuries-old traditional Persian mansion that once belonged to a powerful merchant named Mirza Bagheri. But the real power wasn't his wealth—it was a mysterious journal hidden within these walls that was said to predict the future. Rumor has it, when thieves tried to steal it, the house itself reacted: doors jammed, windows froze, and the corridors stretched to trap them. To this day, restorers claim they can hear the faint rustling of pages turning deep inside the bones of the building. But that's not all. We'll also wander through incredibly narrow historic alleys where only two or three adults can pass at a time. We'll visit the 300-year-old Taghavi complex—which transformed from a private home to Gorgan's first girls' school, then a maternity clinic, and now a cultural heritage site. Finally, we stand in awe before Imamzade Noor, a stunning, sacred octagonal shrine that confirmed inscriptions prove is at least 900 years old (and potentially up to 15 centuries old!).
