Russia’s First White Gyrfalcon Bullet Train Factory Is Almost Finished

Russia's ambitious high-speed rail program has reached a major milestone as construction of the country's first dedicated high-speed train factory approaches completion near Yekaterinburg. With approximately 70% of the project now finished and only 30% of construction work remaining, the massive industrial complex is rapidly transforming into the future home of Russia's next generation of domestically built high-speed trains. Spread across nearly 67,000 square meters, the facility includes multiple production halls, a train commissioning and testing center, an advanced engineering and design complex, and administrative facilities. The largest manufacturing building stretches an impressive 420 meters in length and will be responsible for producing train body components and assembling future high-speed trainsets. The factory is being developed to support the production of the EVS360 "White Gyrfalcon" high-speed train, a new Russian-designed train capable of operating at speeds of up to 360 km/h. These trains are expected to serve the future Moscow–St. Petersburg High-Speed Railway, one of the most significant transportation infrastructure projects currently underway in Russia. Hundreds of workers and dozens of pieces of construction equipment are currently active on site as builders complete final structural, electrical, and engineering work. The project represents one of the largest railway manufacturing investments in modern Russian history and is expected to become the center of a new domestic high-speed rail industry.
