Truffe agli anziani, i poliziotti-attori insegnano come difendersi

It is one of the most heinous and difficult crimes to neutralize, as it targets the weak, defenseless, and often struggling, preying on emotions. Venice's police commissioner, Antonio Sbordone, has declared war on scams and deceptions targeting the elderly, so much so that he has produced a video that will be shown in various settings, including shopping malls, to raise awareness about how to defend themselves from unscrupulous groups. These organized gangs, headquartered in Campania, identify their prey, study their families and their vulnerabilities, and even reproduce the voices of loved ones using artificial intelligence. When the time comes, they travel up the country to strike. The project was developed entirely by the Police Headquarters' External Relations Office in collaboration with the A.n.p.s. The film features current and former police officers who are members of the Association as actors and producers. (Text by Marta Artico)
