One of the Coolest Cruising Destinations I have Visited: Smokehouse Bay on Great Barrier Island

Episode 342 : Season 10 : New Zealand - Aotearoa Hello Friends, On this episode I have a lovely slow sail across Port Fitzroy to the legendary Smokehouse Bay. I had heard a lot of hype about this spot and I have to say it far exceeded expectations. Where else can you sail up to an almost empty anchorage, drop the hook, head ashore and start a fire for a hot water bath, smoke fish and make a pizza in the pizza oven? Oh Yeah you can also do you your washing in the basins near the pizza oven. This was a really remarkable place and easily one of the coolest cruising destinations I have ever visited.
