If You Understand These Five Matters, You Are Upon Tawheed | Shaykh Ṣāliḥ Sindhī حفظه الله

How well do we really understand Tawheed? Many Muslims can define Tawheed in a general sense, but do we truly understand the Tawheed that the Prophet ﷺ called to? Do we understand the Shirk that he ﷺ spent his life warning against? In this reminder, we look at five essential matters that every Muslim should understand: • What is Tawheed? • What is Shirk? • Who were the mushrikeen that the Prophet ﷺ was sent to? • What is worship (ʿibādah)? • What is the relationship between Tawheed al-Rububiyyah and Tawheed al-Uluhiyyah? A deficiency in understanding any one of these matters can lead to confusion regarding the reality of Tawheed and the reality of Shirk. These are not merely academic discussions. They are foundations that help us understand why the Prophets were sent, why the Qur’an was revealed, and what Allah ﷻ requires from His servants. A beneficial reminder based on the Four Principles (Al-Qawāʿid al-Arbaʿ) to help us strengthen our understanding of the greatest obligation upon every Muslim.
