The Counselor, or Paraclete, the Holy Spirit, is the Helper, Comforter, Advocate, and Counselor; He is the One who gives us heavenly wisdom, reminds us of the Lord's words, and rebukes and enlightens us regarding sin, righteousness, and judgment. It explains that sin is not merely a matter of action, but a state in which my heart is not aiming at Jesus but is instead **missing toward the law of desire (hamartia)**. Righteousness comes from a right relationship with God, that is, obedience, and judgment is revealed through the principle of Galatians 6:7: “Whatever a person sows, that he will reap.” Furthermore, while the Synoptic Gospels record that night only as Gethsemane, John records it as **‘the garden across the Kidron Valley’**. The Kidron Valley was, in reality, a valley of death and a graveyard; As Jesus passed through that valley of death, He accepted His own death, declaring, "I must die for man to live," and proceeded toward the cross. He invites us to hold fast to the warning in Ecclesiastes 12:1.
