I traveled to Grindelwald, Interlaken, and Lucerne in Switzerland. This year, Switzerland had an unusually long winter, and even at the end of May, the snow still remained in many places. There were many sections where the trekking we had hoped for was impossible. We flew Qatar Airways and transited through Doha Airport. Direct flights with Korean Air have now resumed. We traveled from Zurich Airport to Grindelwald by train. For transportation within Switzerland, we chose the Swiss Pass. Note: We didn't go to Jungfraujoch, so if you're planning to, you might want to compare it with the Jungfrau VIP Pass. The Grindelwald Airbnb I chose was "Mitterhorn," selected by Interhome. While it offers great value and a great view, it's located on a hill three bus stops from Grindelwald Station, and you have to pick up your keys in person at the office at Grindelwald Station. (25% discount with the Swiss Pass) We couldn't visit Lake Polboden, which we had wanted to visit, due to the accumulated snow. We took the mountain railway to Kleine Scheidegg. It's also a filming location for the drama "Crash Landing on You." I didn't have high expectations for Kleine Scheidegg, but the harmony between the train and the snowy mountains was truly breathtaking. It was one of the highlights of my trip, and if you're visiting the Jungfraujoch or Eiger Glacier, be sure to stop by Kleine Scheidegg! The famous Männlichen trek section 33... We couldn't trek because the cable car wasn't in operation. Grindelwald - Männlichen Cable Car Operating Period: May 27 - October 22, December 9 - (As of May 21, 2023) The trek we chose was Alpenglen - Brandeck. The snow prevented trekking further up the mountain, and the steep slope made it a bit challenging. It would be helpful to bring proper equipment, such as hiking poles and boots. If the weather is clear, you'll be able to see a "snow shower" like ours, with melting snow pouring down like a waterfall.
