Rows 2-16: HDC in the back loop of each stitch, at end of row. CH1 and turn work. Join short edges of panel using a sl st in each stitch Cut a yarn leaving a 4-foot tail. Weave in yarn at start of project. Weave the long tail yarn along the bottom edge of the pumpkin and pull tight to secure. Pull yarn into inside of the pumpkin. Fill the pumpkin with fiber fill. Weave the yarn around the top pumpkin top edge and pull tight to secure, leaving a small hole in the top for your stem. Wrap yarn around the pumpkin to create the first spine and secure at the top of the pumpkin. Wrap yarn around the pumpkin again to create a second spine and secure it at the top of the pumpkin. Wrap yarn again to create a third spine and secure it at the top of the pumpkin.
