INDUS CREED - legends before @defleppard concert @ JioWorldGarden BKC Mumbai 27/3/26 @induscreednow

If you are a Generation X-er or a Millenial and grew up in 80s-early '90s India, chances are you've watched this band in a music video on TV on either DD or MTV / Channel [V] atleast once or perhaps in an ad (late 80s HMT's "Have the Time of your life") or if you are or were a hardcore rocker back then - perform at one of many Independence Rock a.k.a I-rock concerts at Rang Bhavan back in the day! Indus Creed (‪@IndusCreedNow‬) are a multi-award-winning Mumbai based rock band, often credited for being THE pioneering group in the Indian rock/independent music scene! Several band members have come and gone since their halcyon days of the 80s (back when they were known as "Rock Machine") and the group even disbanded for a brief period between 1997 and 2010, but the legendary core of the group - founding members Uday Benegal (‪@UdayBenegal‬lead vocalist and band frontrunner with his magical and soulful voice), Mahesh Tinaikar (the guitar maverick) and Zubin Balaporia (‪@zubinb3‬the keyboard wizard) largely remains the same. It was an absolute pleasure to witness these OG Bombay (now Mumbai) rockers perform for their very first time at Jio World Garden and as the opening act to the Def Leppard concert! From belting out hits ranging from relatively more contemporary tracks like "Fireflies", to vintage ones like “Trapped", "Rock and Roll Renegade" and my two favorite Indus Creed / Rock Machine songs of all time - "Top of the Rock" and "Pretty Child" ( that awesome music video!!), their energetic performance washed away the entire crowd with a huge tidal wave of nostalgia, turning it into the proverbial icing on the cake of that evening! My first and perhaps the best concert experience I could have ever asked for - watching two legendary bands from our growing up years perform one after the other! Sublime and surreal, all at the same time! Here's wishing more years of being at the "Top of the Rock" to these brilliant and awesome rockstars and I hope to see them perform again soon! Here are some glimpses of the show - ENJOY and KEEP ON’ ROCKING! 🤘🤘🤘
