It was around 57 AD. In the season when the spring breezes of the Mediterranean were blowing, the Apostle Paul was aboard the blue waves of the Aegean Sea. Having concluded his long ministry in Macedonia and Greece, Paul was now beginning his final voyage. This journey, extending from Troas to Assos, from Assos to Mytilene, and from Mytilene to Miletus, was not merely a trip. It was a journey of final confession, a condensed version of one man's entire life. The text from Acts 20:13 to 21:16 marks the final act of Paul's third missionary journey. This passage captures a resolute step toward a single destination. That destination was Jerusalem, and as Paul already knew, it was a place where imprisonment, tribulation, and death awaited.
