Exploring Old Town & Christmas Markets | Germany Travel Vlog Lübeck

We accidentally stumbled across Lübeck a few weeks ago during a train transfer and thought nothing of it… until someone on Instagram kindly informed us that we had basically only seen the “crappy train station.” 😅 So we Googled it. And wow. In this video, we’re taking a proper day trip to Lübeck to explore the old town, see the famous seven spires, wander through centuries-old streets, visit historic churches, and soak up a Christmas market that felt straight out of another time. From medieval architecture to wood-fired bread, Swiss and Austrian cheeses, and finally trying Lübeck’s famous marzipan (mixed reviews in our family), the entire day felt incredibly rich and grounding. What I keep coming back to is how different it feels to walk through a place where history, culture, and beauty are just part of everyday life. Everything feels intentional. Everything has detail. And as someone who didn’t grow up surrounded by places like this, I feel really grateful to experience it and to share it with our kids. This was one of those days that reminded me why we love exploring Germany so much… and why my list of places to visit just keeps getting longer.
