A serious mistake could ruin everything, and you'll have to remove the fur, cut everything out, and sew it all back together, which is something I really don't want to do. If you're cutting a fursuit for the first time, it's better to use scissors rather than clippers. Yes, the job will take longer, but there's less chance of ruining it. If you do decide to use clippers without experience, I recommend practicing on scraps of fur first.
