Do The Right Thing - Stylistic Cinematography

Do The Right Thing is a special movie, it kickstarted Spike Lee’s career, is an incredible commentary on the social climate of the time, and it showed what we were in for, when it comes to Lee’s visual style, with it having some of the best cinematography of the 80s, and it’s all thanks to cinematographer, Ernest R. Dickerson. In today’s video, I cover the equipment Dickerson used, but also, take a look at the look, and then, I compare it to other similar films of this genre, and explain why it was so revolutionary. As always if you have a recommendation for an analysis, let me know below!
