[Experience the masterpieces of Poul Kjærholm, master of Scandinavian furniture] This time, we bring you a special edition from FRITZ HANSEN TOKYO, just a three-minute walk from the CONNECT Tokyo office! We visited the flagship store of FRITZ HANSEN, the renowned Danish furniture brand, to experience the masterpieces of Scandinavian furniture master Poul Kjærholm. Poul Kjærholm, a master of the Danish furniture world, was born in 1929 in a rural town in northwestern Denmark. He apprenticed as a cabinetmaker at the age of 15 and earned the title of master cabinetmaker at 18. He studied under Hans J. Wegner and was also heavily influenced by the Bauhaus. While inheriting the spirit of Danish craftsmanship, he continued to demonstrate his unconventional talent, making him a designer who has left a significant mark on the history of Scandinavian furniture. This summer, his first Japanese exhibition of his work was held at the Panasonic Shiodome Museum of Art in Tokyo, where it garnered a great response.
