Aylardır bakmadığım ve sulamadığım Sukulent ve türlerinin son durumları #succulent
For months, succulents have been neglected, abandoned to their fate in a corner... First of all, don't feel guilty, because succulents are the rebellious children of the plant world, saying "leave us alone," and are content with minimal attention. However, being without water for "months," no matter how resilient they are, has left its mark. When you go to their pots, you will probably see: 🔍 The Scene You Will Encounter: Succulents 1. Wrinkled and Shriveled Leaves The leaves of succulents are their water reservoirs. Because they haven't found water for months, they have depleted the water in their reservoirs. Appearance: Normally plump and firm leaves are shriveled, wrinkled, and soft. When you touch them, you won't feel their former fullness. 2. Farewell to the Lower Leaves (Drying and Shedding) The plant has implemented a complete "crisis management" strategy to survive. To keep the new, fresh leaves at the top alive, it sacrificed the old leaves at the bottom. Image: You'll see completely dried-out, paper-like brown leaves at the bottom of the stem. This is a completely normal defense mechanism. 3. Effort to Grab Moisture from the Air (Airborne Roots) If the succulent can't find moisture in the soil, it may be seeking relief in the air. Image: You may see small, pink or brown, thread-like roots extending outwards from the stem. These are a cry of "Give me some moisture!" 4. Necks Stretching Towards the Sun (Etiolation) If, during this process, they not only lacked water but were also kept in a dark/low-light corner: Image: The succulent's neat, rosette-like shape is distorted, it has stretched upwards like a giraffe to reach the sun, the spaces between the leaves have widened, and its color has faded. 🚑 Emergency Rescue Plan: How to Bring Them Back to Life? Most succulents can recover from this condition unless they are completely dried out (i.e., not dead enough to crumble into dust). However, you shouldn't create a sudden shock when saving them. Remove Dead Leaves: Gently remove any dried, brown leaves from the base of the stem. This allows the plant to breathe. Don't Drown (Underwater): Soil that has been dry for months has lost its ability to absorb water (it has hardened). If you pour water from above, the water will flow out through the drainage holes without penetrating the soil. Solution: Place the pot in a container filled with water and allow the soil to absorb the water slowly from the bottom (about 30-45 minutes). Once the top of the soil is moist, remove the pot from the container. Protect from Excessive Sun: Don't immediately place weakened plants under the scorching midday sun. Let them recover for a few days in a place with indirect but bright light. But as you can see in my video, very few of my succulents were in this condition; most of them had become even more beautiful. This was because I took very good care of them. What kind of care, you ask? It was using rich, homemade soil and placing them in locations they liked. Thanks to this, I didn't encounter any shocking results.
