Their picturesque landscapes, splattered on canvas, hang nicely in my living room. Then my mind drifts and imagines my feet actually walking over the cobblestones. This art journal watercolor painting is another one of those conjured adventures. As I was painting this, however, I felt God's stirring in my heart. There's an adventure He desires for me that's not a product of my false romanticism. There's this deeper journey I need to take, one that has a more lasting impact ... with benefits that weigh more than a week's worth of memories from Alaskan excursions. That journey is called faith. You and I, we're invited to take that journey. The trek is not always smooth. There are occasional potholes or uneven cobblestones that trip us up. The baggage may be heavy with unanswered prayers, chronic diseases, failures, and withered hope. But if we stay true to the course, the view at the end is breathtaking ... exponentially more dazzling than the Renaissance architecture in this sketchbook. So, my friend, don't travel in your dreams. Dream and strive to travel with the Lord.
