LOTUS Omega, the Beast of the BMW M5. In the late 1980s, General Motors acquired the competitive but debt-ridden Lotus. Thanks to the acquisition of this racing firm, it was decided to improve the inline-6 engine of one of Opel's best sedans. The result was a sedan, the Omega, which would benefit from greater performance than the rest of the best German sedans. However, far from being considered a benchmark car, it ended up being considered a dangerous vehicle due to its excessive speed, to the point of being the order of the day in the English House of Commons.
