The Thing Invisible by W H Hodgson | A Carnacki the Ghost Finder story | read by Greg Wagland | 1912
Here's a new series of stories featuring Carnacki, an Edwardian English gentleman who holds court in his Chelsea home, dines with his four friends, and afterwards, over a pipe or cigar, regales them with a story which features some level of psychic investigation which he undertakes with gusto and derring-do. Some cases are truly weird, some turn out to have been perpetrated by Scooby-Doo style malefactors. Anyhow, Hodgson was the pioneer of this genre and gave us half a dozen or more psychic detective adventures and they are rather entertaining. Funnily enough, or not, as the case may be, this first one is perhaps not in the top rank, but it's not bad either. Hope you enjoy it and return for more. It's read by me, Greg Wagland for Magpie Audio. Don't worry, it's just the audio this time!
