Teach Me Oh Lord

As we continue our series in Psalm 119, we now come to the section where the servant of God pleads to be taught by God. We see that phrase “Teach me Your statutes” multiple times in this incredible Psalm. It is very important for each of us to ask ourselves the question: “Do I want God to teach me?” We must first acknowledge that we have a wonderful teacher and master in God who teaches us good things and gives us good gifts. He will always tell us the truth and will always lead us in the direction of righteousness and peace. We must run to Christ and not run to what some call Christian pragmatism. We cannot have the attitude that we will follow Christ only if it works for us or only if it benefits us in a selfish kind of way. We follow Christ because He is King and He is the way, the truth, and the life.
