Decorating a Flower Pot with Polymer Clay, a Tutorial.

VIDEO UPDATE – If you DO want to use your pot as an ACTUAL flowerpot, then you will need to completely seal the inside of the pot with a waterproof sealant. Thankyou to Pam and Sandra, for this information, both of whom have commented below, and mentioned their own experiences with this. As Terracotta absorbs water, it will expand and move, whereas the polymer clay will not. I will continue my own experiments and update these notes with what I find over time. Bearing the above in mind, this is a such a fun and easy project for anyone to have a go at. You can make these pots as colourful and vibrant as you like, and then use them indoors as desk tidy’s, decorated pots to hold contained flowers (see the comment about sealant above). The only limit is your imagination and the amount of polymer clay you have. In this video I show you lots of different techniques, which you can then use to create your own design. I had lots of fun doing this, I hope you do too. (Here is one link, as an example only, so you can see what to look for - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Makins-USA-C... ) The small round cutters can either be bought in a set specifically used for polymer clay from many shops on Etsy, (I originally got mine from MyMandarinDucky on Etsy - https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/21137... ) but I have also bought them direct off eBay, where you can search under ‘Cord Pin End Crimp Terminal Wire Copper Connectors’, to find similar cutters, but you will get a huge amount all the same sizes.
