Seven Commandments of the Noahide part 03

The seven Noahide precepts – part 3. Believe only in G-d. In the book of Genesis, (2:16) immediately after the creation of man, it is written: "and G-d commanded the man." This is a commandment about His divinity and Honor, that every man must accept. In the second of the Ten Commandments it is written (Exodus 22) "You shall have no other G-ds before Me." G‑d commanded us to believe that He is the Creator and Owner of the world. In the book of Deuteronomy, it is written "And lest you lift up your eyes to heaven and see the sun and the moon and the stars and all the host of heaven and turn away and bow down to them and serve them." Think about it. G‑d, the Creator of the world, created the sky, the earth, and the entire huge universe. He does not need help from any creation, because they are all creatures that He Himself created. He created the world; He directs it and in Him and only Him we should believe. When you think about it you see that idolatry is fundamentally something that doesn't make sense, something that goes against common sense. We believe that G-d is the first cause and before Him there was nothing else. If so, how can you think that He would need the help of one of His creations to rule the world? The prophet Isaiah spoke ironically about idolaters, describing a man who makes a wooden statue with his own hands, prepares a meal with its leftovers, and finally bows down to the work of his own hands. “All this serves a mortal for fuel: He takes some to warm himself, builds a fire and bakes bread. He also makes a G-d of it and worships it, fashions an idol and bows down to it! Part of it he burns in a fire: on that part he roasts meat, he eats the roast and is sated; He also warms himself and cries, “Ah, I am warm! I can feel the heat!” Of the rest he makes a G-d—his own carving! He bows down to it, worships it; He prays to it and cries, “Save me, for you are my G-d! (Isaiah 44:16) It is possible that a civilized and reasonable person would also mock this primitive person who bows down to the work of his own hands. But it should be noted that it is equally ridiculous to think that something that G-d created can become His Helper or have an opinion towards the One who created the world from nothing and also runs it. G-d wanted the world to be illuminated so He fulfilled His will through the sun. G-d wanted the air to move and carried out His will through the wind. These forces are conduits and tools to carry out G-d's will, but they have no choice and there is no point in giving them excessive importance. We will end with the words of the prophet Isaiah (44, 6) " Thus said G-D, the Sovereign of Israel, Their Redeemer, G-D of Hosts: I am the first and I am the last, and there is no G-d but Me”.
